£230k grant boosts facilities at town’s football ground

Brackley Town have received a grant of £237,874 from the Football Foundation to help improve grassroots sport across Northants.

The announcement was made on Tuesday and will see the construction of new facilities comprising a pavilion, third generation artificial pitch (AGP), floodlights and changing rooms which will open seven days a week.

Sara Crannage, chairman of Brackley Town, said: “We are thrilled and extremely excited to have been granted this funding by the Football Foundation.

“As a Community Charter Standard Club we constantly strive to improve and we hope the community of Brackley will enjoy this legacy for many years to come.

“This successful funding application is a testimony to the hard work and commitment shown by our club officials, coaches, players, parents, volunteers and staff.”

The club worked in partnership with the Northants FA to secure the grant from the country’s largest sports charity, and the pavilion will provide a much-needed training and playing facility for local football teams, clubs and the community of Brackley.
