36 killed on roads last year

ROAD SAFETY: Although the number of people who died on Northants roads in 2012 nearly doubled compared to 2011, fatalities are still on a downward trend

Last year 36 people died on the county’s roads, the fifth lowest figure in 50 years.

A spokesman for Northants County Council said road deaths are on a 15 year downward trend and so far they have not identified any common causes.
