Author hand delivers surprise honeymoon

A newly married couple from Hinton-in-the-Hedges will be enjoying a honeymoon at a luxury resort in Mallorca next spring thanks to an author from Towcester.
On Tuesday newly weds Jeremy and Wendy Veale received a surprise visit from Geoffrey Iley, former Towcester mayor and author of the Navegator.
To promote his first novel, Mr Iley included a competition, with the answers hidden in the story, to win a five star holiday at the Mallorca Marriot Golf and Spa Resort.
Mr and Mrs Veale were married in July, but were delaying a honeymoon as they had to make special arrangements due to a medical condition.
Mr Veale said the book will now hold special memories for them both.
He added: “We’ve both read it, I’ve recommended it to the whole family and my neighbour is reading it.
“It’s very much a modern version of a Bletchley Park thriller.
“In fact, my father worked at Bletchley Park and he’s reading it at the moment.
“It captivated me. I couldn’t put it down and I read it in three days.”
