BUCKINGHAM: The Jubilee Beacon, to commemorate The Queens Diamond Jubilee, will be lit in Bourton Park, Bourton Road, at 10.15pm on Monday June 4, by Buckingham’s new mayor, Ruth Newell.

There will be live music from My Holiday Romance and Sink The Bismark from 7pm, and a barbecue is being provided by The Buckingham Twinning Association.

Buckingham Town Council thanked members of the public, HG Timber, Ganderton & Son and others who donated wood for the beacon.

It will be one of a network of more than 4,000 beacons being lit throughout the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Commonwealth and UK overseas territories to celebrate the Jubilee.
