Benefit fraud doesn’t pay

BICESTER: A Bicester resident will have to pay back £2,700 after pleading guilty to making fraudulent benefits claims on Tuesday.

Patricia Cashmore, 57, of Holm Way, pleaded guilty at Banbury Magistrates’ Court after failing to inform Cherwell District Council of pay increases and a private pension.

She will have to repay the money along with £250 court costs, and was also given a two-year conditional discharge.
