Bicester’s new hospital gets the go-ahead
Plans for a new 12-bed hospital in Bicester were approved last night.
Preliminary work could start on the new hospital site in January following the decision by Cherwell District Council’s planning committee.
A total of 12 individual patient rooms will be provided, and facilities will include diagnostics such as x-ray and ultrasound, a first aid unit, an out of hours service, therapies and an outpatients department.
The new health facility will be built on the current hospital site in Kings End, with the existing cottage hospital to be demolished in April 2014.
Once the site is cleared, 14 houses are due to be built.
