A Tingewick woman has managed to get something done about an unlit junction on the A421 Buckingham bypass.

Rosemary Stuchbury was so concerned that lack of lighting at the entrance to the Badgers estate would cause an accident, she lobbied Bucks County Council (BCC) to have the street lamps at the junction re-lit.

The lights on that section of road were switched off in 2008 as part of the street light energy saving trial.

Now Mrs Stuchbury has had a letter from BCC cabinet member for planning and transportation, Janet Blake, to say, while there are no plans for increased lighting, reflective bollards will be installed at the junction in the new financial year.

Mrs Stuchbury said: “I have at last got a form of satisfaction. I want the lights on but i f I can’t have the lights on, I have achieved getting bollards. So there’s some form of recognition.”
