Brackley praised for the upkeep of war memorial

THE chairman of the Brackley Royal British Legion presented Brackley Town Council with an award for the best kept war memorial in the county.

Last week Russell Barrie made the presentation to Mayor Theo Hayward during one of the council’s Monday night meetings.

Mr Barrie said it was the second year running the town had received the award and that there were 38 memorial just in south Northants.

He praised the council for keeping the memorial to a high standard and added: “There are a lot of well known local names on the memorial and this just goes to show that those who gave their lives will never be forgotten.“
