POLICE have named a motorcyclist from Wappenham who died after a crash in west London this week.

Joshua Downing, aged 26, of High Street, died on Tuesday following a crash with a car at about 9.40pm the previous evening in North End Road.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman said the vehicles involved were an Audi A3 and a Triumph motorcycle.

Mr Downing, who was riding the motorcycle, was treated at the scene by the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance. He was taken to St Mary’s Hospital where he subsequently died from his injuries the following day.

A post mortem examination held last Friday at Fulham Mortuary gave the cause of death as blunt force trauma.

An inquest was opened and adjourned the same day at Fulham Coroner’s Court.
