Building firm delivers its support to fundraiser

Staff at the Best Western Hotel on the A421 Buckingham bypass held a Wear It Pink Day in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign.

Hotel secretary Trudy Lock, who organises the event every year, said £303.32 was raised for the charity on the day.

Ms Lock said she would like to thank Linda Watkins and her group for a “fabulous” music performance, entertainer Paul Biswell of CSB roadshow and ‘Peppa Pig’.

She thanksed C.A. Holics, Roger’s greengrocers, Revival Health & Leisure Club at the Best Western Hotel, Buckingham Waitrose, Tesco and Buckingham Garden Centre for generously donating raffle prizes.

And Ms Lock said a big thank you to builders merchant Travis Perkins for sending one of its fleet of specially-painted pink delivery vehicles on the morning.

A Travis Perkins spokesman said: “Travis Perkins supports Breast Cancer Campaign and Together For Short Lives on a national level.

“Across the business we have about 15 pink lorries.

“These are used to make deliveries and can sometimes be made available for fundraising occasions across the UK.”

Wear It Pink is an annual national fundraising event run by Breast Cancer Campaign, a charity with a pioneering approach to breast cancer research.

The charity funds projects with the greatest potential to save and improve lives, including the formation of a breast cancer tissue bank for researchers in the UK and Ireland.
