A laptop and a television were stolen in a burglary in Richmond Road, Towcester.

It happened on Christmas Eve, between 2.30pm and 4pm. Two men approached an 84-year-old man on his driveway and asked for directions, and it is believed they stole his door keys whilst talking to him. Later his house was burgled while he was out.

The offenders are described as being white with strong Eastern European accents, in their mid-twenties and about 5ft8in tall. One was of medium build with short dark hair, wearing a dark green jacket, blue jeans, white trainers and a woolly hat. The other is described as being of slim build with short black hair and facial hair, wearing a green or brown duffle coat with a hood, blue jeans and black shoes.

There were lots of people around at the time of the offence and Northants Police are appealing for them to come forward.

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
