Buy a brick and help build pavilion

Local businesses and residents are being given the opportunity to ‘Buy A Brick’ to help build a new Community Sports Pavilion in Mursley.

Work is already under way on the new pavilion, on Station Road, with a deadline for the changing rooms to be ready by November 24 in time for a home game.

The community area is scheduled for completion by mid January.

Funding to help with the project has been secured from a number of sources, including Sport England, the Football Foundation, Section 106 money from Aylesbury Vale District Council and the Leader programme.

But to boost funds for the build, Mursley Sports Association is asking households in the village to purchase a brick for £5.

They will have their family name printed on a Community Supporters scroll of honour inside the new pavilion.

The sports association is also asking local businesses to buy a block of bricks.

The build requires a total of 10,200 bricks, and the sports association hopes to sell at least 3,000 of these.

Supporting businesses will have their organisation’s name displayed on a Community Partners scroll of honour inside the new pavilione.

All supporters will be invited to celebrate at the grand opening planned for late January. For more information, see www.mursleysports.wordpress.com
