CAR owners are being told to be vigilant after a series of catalytic converter thefts in south Northants.
The first theft from Whittlebury Road, Silverstone, happened between 1.30pm on Wednesday, April 18, and 7.30am the following morning. A catalytic converter was stolen from a silver Citroen van which was parked on a driveway.
The second theft also took place from a driveway, this time in Grays Lane, Paulerspury on Thursday, April 19. Between 9.30am and 5.50pm, a catalytic converter was stolen from a white Ford Ranger pickup vehicle.
Sergeant Micki Kennett, of Towcester Safer Community Team said: “These two incidents took place in the middle of villages, one during daylight hours and the other possibly also.
“There may turn out to be no further incidents but I would ask members of the public to remain vigilant at all times and, wherever possible, ensure their vehicles are housed securely.”
