Bicester residents with homes sitting vacant are being offered grants of up to £15,000 to help get them back into use.

Anyone in Cherwell with a house in need of sprucing up could be eligible.

In return, they will be asked to sign an agreement to accept tenants put forward by Cherwell District Council (CDC).

Councillor Debbie Pickford, CDC lead member for housing, said: “By helping bring those homes back into use, we can create new income for the owner, house people who are otherwise at risk of being homeless, and improve the standard of private sector housing into the bargain.”

Contact CDC housing officers on 01295 221764 for more information.
