Police have issued an e-fit of a brazen burglar who searched the lounge of a home in Bicester while the occupant was asleep on the sofa.

Thames Valley Police released an e-fit image of the crook at the end of last week.

They are linking the break-in in Derwent Road with another incident in Kennedy Road, which both happened on the evening of Friday, October 12.

Police said the Derwent Road incident took place at about 7.45pm, when a burglar got into the home by forcing open a rear kitchen window.

While searching the lounge, the burglar woke an occupant who had been asleep on the sofa. The burglar then fled through the kitchen door and jumped over the garden fence.

The same man is then thought to have smashed a kitchen door in Kennedy road at about 8.30pm, but left when a burglar alarm activated.

The burglar is described as being aged in his late thirties, around 6ft 2ins tall, and of average build.

Anyone who recognises the suspected burglar should contact PC Stephen Parry on 101.
