THEFT: Police have released CCTV images of three people after a 69-year-old man had £400 stolen in Bicester.

At around 2.30pm on Monday, January 7, the man was followed to an ATM inside the Halifax Building Society in Sheep Street, where two men and a woman are believed to have intercepted his PIN number.

They distracted the man while he was using the machine, noted his PIN number, took his bank card and stole £400 from his account. The victim was not hurt during the theft.

PC James Waterson, from Bicester Police Station, said: “This is a cowardly crime as the offenders deliberately targeted this elderly gentleman with the sole purpose of trying to steal from him.

“I would like to hear from anyone who can help identify the people shown in the image as I believe they can help us with our investigation.

“I would like to remind everyone, that when using a cash machine make sure you are aware of who is standing near you and that no-one is trying to look over your shoulder. Also cover up your PIN number when entering it into the machine.”

Anyone with information should contact PC Waterson on 101.
