A successful pilot scheme in Buckingham and Winslow for people who are worried about their memory is now being extended.

The pilot scheme, run by the Alzheimer’s Society with funding from the NHS, has been running at GP surgeries in Buckingham and Winslow since May 2012.

And it has been successful in helping to raise the diagnosis of dementia in the north of the county, as well as supporting people who already have a diagnosis and their carers.

Now Whitchurch GP Surgery is to join the pilot scheme.

Fifty-two per cent of people with dementia in Aylesbury Vale do not have a diagnosis, so are unable to access services, benefits and medication.

Two dementia primary care workers are available to answer your questions and provide support for people who are worried about their memory, and their carers.
