As South Northants Council prepares for big changes to local government funding next year it has streamlined its scrutiny process, while making budget discussions more democratic.

A budget working party will be turned into a committee which must include a proportional mix of political parties.

The committee structure has also been changed to enable the council to cope with Government funding linked to housing growth from next year.

Three new member champions will also be appointed to concentrate on services for young people, design and buying locally.
