East West Rail gets the go-ahead

WINSLOW and Bicester are set to benefit from major investment after the long-awaited East West Rail scheme was given the green light today.

The new rail service linking Oxford, Milton Keynes and Bedford is due to stop at Winslow and Bicester, and would lead to the creation of a new station at Winslow.

Around 12,000 jobs could be created.

Details were announced in chancellor George Osborne’s autumn statement today.
