The work of a Greens Norton filmmaker is to be shown at one of the country’s most prestigious cinemas.

Ashley Williams, 25 – who won the judges choice in the 2012 Film Northants Awards – will see his film Disparu screened at The Odeon in Leicester Square, London, on March 19 after it was chosen to be one of three films in the public vote category as part of the First Light Film Awards,

Mr Williams, a Sponne School graduate, describes his film – produced entirely in Greens Norton – as an animated 1950s film noir which utilises modern techniques to give the film a comic book feel. He said: “I made that film specifically for Film Northants, I didn’t expect anything like this. I was flabbergasted when I found out it was going to be shown at the Odeon. It is an amazing thing, I can’t express in words how amazed, proud and excited I am.”
