Find out about village history at fundraising Bygones Day

DID you know that Padbury once had a bakery, a railway station and a watermill?

There’s a chance to find out about the history of the attractive village, and how much times have changed at a Bygones Day at 1pm on Saturday, May 19, at Padbury Playing Field.

The story of Padbury will be told through photography, crafts and demonstrations including wool spinning.

Old farm vehicles, vintage cars, motorcycles and scooters will be on display.

Family entertainment will include rare-breed animals, a bouncy castle and a fire engine for the children.

Refreshments will include traditional cream teas, a barbecue and a licensed bar.

Admission is £5, with free entry for under-16s.

The event is being organised by the fundraising group Padbury Flyers, who will be participating in the Relay For Life on June 16 for Cancer Research UK.

So far they have raised £2,000.

Anyone who would like to exhibit at the event should call Neil Gibbard on 01280 816568.
