Glorious sunshine brought bumper numbers of visitors to this year’s Winslow Show on Bank Holiday Monday.
Highlights included an exceptional turnout of more than 60 classic cars and vintage tractors, with David Wardell and his MGTF1500 winning Best In Show and John Housego with his Ford Model T awarded Best Period Dress.
Winners of the Outer Space and Aliens-themed fancy dress parade competition included Treehouse Pre-school as best group, Margarita Rodriguez Galatanu and Jo Simms as aliens and Holly Schneidau as an astronaut.
Winslow Rugby Club was overall winner of the tug of war challenge against Winslow Young Farmers.
Chairman of the Winslow Show Association Committee, Dean White, said: “This year’s show was truly fabulous, with more people than ever coming early to watch the competitions and staying to enjoy the attractions and the sunshine for the rest of the day.
“We’re confident that this year we’ll be able to make one of the largest donations to charities and good causes ever.”
“A great deal of effort goes into the show but without a host of volunteers, including Winslow Lions Club, Winslow Rotary Club, Buckingham and Winslow District Scouts and Edgcott & Winslow Young Farmers, the event just wouldn’t be possible.
“We’re incredibly grateful to the local community that supports the show and its local charities.”
