Gentle comedy at The Film Place

On Friday at 8pm and on Saturday at 7.30pm, Buckingham film club The Film Place is showing gentle comedy The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

The dazzling cast is a rollcall of the great and good of British and Indian stage and screen.

A misleadingly optimistic brochure hoodwinks seven pensioners into booking tickets to The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel.

Judi Dench plays the newly widowed and newly impoverished Evelyn. Tom Wilkinson plays a high court judge returning to India to find a lost love. Maggie Smith is a closed-minded former housekeeper who’s there only for discounted hip surgery. Bill Nighy and Penelope Wilton are an unhappy married couple, and Ronald Pickup and Celia Imrie play two singles hoping India will provide one last chance at love.
