Get your muskets at the ready - it’s Civil War time

CHILDREN from Buckingham Primary School were taught the art of historical warfare at a re-enactment of the English Civil War with the Sealed Knot at Claydon House.

The pupils were taught how how soldiers lived and fought and visiting schools were given a clothing guide. Girls were asked to wear peasant-style shawls and dresses, and boys waistcoats and trousers tucked in their socks.

Children sized muskets and pikes were available to use in a staged battle. The event was part of the county’s Learning Festival.
