Green Goddess, False alarm at Queensgate, fire alarm went of in Argos.

THEFT: A Green Goddess was stolen from a stately home near Croughton last week.

The mobile water pump was created in the 1950s to combat fires started by a nuclear war, but is more commonly known for its role during fire service strikes.

Between 5.45pm on Tuesday, June 19, and 10.30am on Wednesday, June 20, thieves removed fencing to gain access to Rowler Manor where the Green Goddess was being kept.

A police spokesman said: “Anyone who may have seen this unique vehicle in the area or on the A43 is urged to contact police.”

Witnesses or anyone with information, should call Northants Police on 101 or information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
