Granborough Senior Citizens enjoyed an afternoon tea in the village hall on Tuesday.

The group meet on every other Tuesday where they have visiting speakers or arrange days out for their members.

Group secretary Margaret Inkley said: “The afternoon tea was very good and we all had a lovely time.

“We usually have a meal at a local restaurant – this year we went to The Bell in Winslow and then in the last week of the year we host an afternoon tea.”

It marks the end of an era for Jack Fisher, Mary Fisher and Barbara Turner, who have decided to retire from the organising committee, but will still be involved in the group.

Mrs Inkley added: “It’s sad they have decided to retire as collectively they have been involved for over 20 years. The club has been going for over 40 years and numbers have gone down, so we are looking for new people aged over 55 to join.”
