An inquest is due to start into a mid-air collision which killed five people, including a married mum-of-one from Towcester.

Sybille Gautrey, aged 33, of Hazel Crescent died when two planes collided near Coventry Airport in Warwickshire on August 17, 2008. A jury inquest into the accident will start at the Warwickshire Justice Centre, in Leamington Spa, on Monday, October 8, and is expected to last for two weeks.

Mrs Gautrey was one of four people aboard a twin-engined Cessna 402C plane which collided with a single-engine Rand KR-2.

Sophie Hastings, aged 28, from Derbyshire; John Antrobus, aged 28, of from Warwickshire and James Beagley, aged 34, of Warwick were also killed, along with the pilot, Brian Normington, aged 70, of Leamington Spa.

At the time, Mrs Gautrey’s family paid tribute to a “kind, generous and loving mum, daughter, wife and friend.”

Mrs Gautrey worked at Coventry Airport as ground operations director and chief training captain with survey company Reconnaissance Venture Ltd. She grew up in East Germany and came to the UK in 1997, eventually settling in Towcester with her husband and daughter.
