The manager of a book store in Bicester is preparing for a bumper turnout when an icon of British television comedy visits next month.

From midday on Saturday, November 3, John Challis, known as Boycie from Only Fools in households up and down the country, will be at Cole’s Book Store in Crown Walk signing copies of the second part of his autobiography, Boycie and Beyond, while sharing anecdotes with fans.

Store manager Jamie Cole said Mr Challis is following in illustrious footsteps after the store was host to Darth Vader actor David Prowse, and Stranglers lead singer Hugh Cornwall earlier this year.

Mr Cole added: “It’s going to be a very good turnout, Only Fools is so popular and he was one of those iconic characters in it right from the beginning.”
