Jubilee oak tree ‘will be enjoyed for years to come’

The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee has been commemorated in Buckingham, with the planting of an English oak tree in Bourton Park.

To mark the Jubilee, AVDC bought an English oak tree for each town and parish council in the district to plant for future generations to enjoy.

AVDC chairman Derrick Isham joined Buckingham mayor Ruth Newell to plant the Jubilee oak in Bourton Park last week.

Mrs Newell said: “As a Buckingham tree warden for many years, I am delighted to be able to plant the Jubilee oak tree in our lovely Bourton Park, where it will be enjoyed for many years to come.”
