Winslow Concert Band entertains the crowds at Blackberry Farm, Quainton

Winslow Concert Band entertains the crowds at Blackberry Farm, Quainton

Aspiring musicians have the chance to attend a workshop with the Winslow Concert Band on Sunday, October 21, at Akeley Wood Senior School.

The workshop, under the band’s musical director Colin Touchin, is open to all players of woodwind and brass instruments, as well as bass guitar and double bass.

Enthusiasm and aspiration are as important as grades, but it is recommended participants are at Grade 3 or above to fully benefit.

The all-day workshop, starting at 10am, will concentrate on different pieces of music, covering aspects such as dynamics, texture and balance between instruments. It will finish with a performance of the pieces that have been worked on during the day.

The cost to non-band members is £15, to include light refreshments. Visit www.winslowconcertband.co.uk or call Fiona on 07891 908811.
