NEPAL CRASH: Tributes paid to former Royal Latin student

The Royal Latin School has paid tribute to a “bright, intelligent and enthusiastic” former student.
Ben Ogden, aged 27, has been named as one of seven Britons killed in the Nepal air crash this morning.
Headteacher David Hudson said:“Ben left the Royal Latin School in 2003.
“Staff who taught him remember him to have been a bright, intelligent and enthusiastic student.
“His parents and teachers were so proud of him when he got into Hertford College at Oxford University, to study international law and German.
“He was an ambitious, modest and popular boy who was well respected by his peers.
“We are all deeply saddened by this terrible news and our deepest sympathy goes out to his family and friends.”
Former deputy headteacher at the Royal Latin School, Ed Grimsdale, said: “He was one of the best, respected by teachers and pupils alike.
“We expected him to go a long way and it’s terrible for such ambition to be snuffed out.”
Former Royal Latin School student Helen Diamond tweeted: “Very sad to hear of the death of a fellow @RLSAlumni Ben Ogden in the Nepal plane crash. Sending heartfelt love to all that knew him.”
In 2005, during a gap year following his studies at Oxford University, Mr Ogden and his girlfriend Stephanie spent four weeks staying with two French families in Mouvaux, France, to improve their French and learn more about French life and culture.
Their trip was facilitated by the Buckingham Twinning Association, and on their return Mr Ogden wrote about the visit for the association’s newsletter.
The pair spent a week working as volunteer English assistants at three local French primary schools, and Mr Ogden described some very lively and entertaining lessons, including teaching the French children to sing “Heads, Shoulders, Knees And Toes”.
Chairman of the twinning association Jane Mordue remembered Mr Ogden as “a bright star”.
She told the Advertiser: “He was a very bright young man who came blazing into the twinning association. He wanted to go to France and practise his French. He and his girlfriend made a great impression over there.
“He was a lovely guy to have around.
“He will be much missed.”
