THE outgoing president of Buckingham’s Inner Wheel, Pam Coughlan, handed over the reins to incoming president Lyn Garton last month.

There are over 100,000 members of Inner Wheel worldwide. Its aims and objectives are to promote true friendship, encourage the ideal of personal service and foster international understanding.

Membership is open to wives, partners and female relatives of Rotary club members.

Mrs Coughlan said: “Buckingham Inner Wheel was founded in 1970 and still has four founder members.

“We meet once a month at Buckingham Hotel for a dinner and business meeting. Each president chooses her own charities and we fundraise throughout the year. Last year I distributed £3,000 to various charities”

Mrs Garton said she will be supporting local charities during her term.
