A Winslow pub pooch enjoyed five minutes of fame on Monday, when he ‘sang’ live on local radio.

Mix 96 was broadcasting its breakfast show from The George pub in Winslow when landlady Louise Brown got her border terrier Max to do his party piece.

Ms Brown told the Advertiser she first discovered that Max would howl along to Bach’s Fugue in D Minor when she had the piece of classical music as an alarm tone on her phone.

The landlady said: “I don’t like doing it to him because I’m not sure if he’s singing or he’s in pain. It either irritates him or he’s singing to it.”

She said the breakfast show had gone well, with presenter Gaz Wesley arriving at 5.30am and broadcasting the whole show from the pub.

The radio station hid three Mix 96 monster toys round the Market Square for listeners to find and claim a mention on the radio.

Ms Brown said: “I managed to get one of those toys for our Christmas raffle. I’ve had to hide it from Max.”

And she added: “It was a very early start, I was up at 4.30am, but it was worth it. Max slept well that night. I think his five minutes of singing on the radio tired him out.”
