NOSTALGIA: The Advertiser bids farewell to editor after two decades
Nostalgia. 130122M-D738
On January 22, 1988 the Advertsier and Review said farewell to the paper’s editoral director Vic Tattershall.
Mr Tattershall became a prominent figure after starting a farming column for the Bucks Herald in 1963. After Herald owners G T de Fraine bought the Advertiser from the Hillier family in 1967 he quickly grew the paper, expanding it with editions for Brackley and Towcester and eventually Bicester. He had served as the Advertiser editor until 1986.
Then on January, 24, 2003 the Advertiser and Review pictured HRH the Princess Royal visiting an award winning prisoner treatment programme at Bullingdon Prison near Bicester. In particular she visited the Segregation Unit which received the Butler Trust’s Group award for its work with disturbed prisoners.
