Opportunity to interview Paralympic sportspeople
The Centre for Bucks Studies is offering an exciting opportunity for volunteers to interview Paralympic athletes.
The 2012 Olympics has led to a renewed interest in the history of the Paralympic Games, which developed from Sir Ludwig Guttmann’s pioneering work at Stoke Mandeville Hospital.
Now the Centre for Bucks Studies has obtained funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund to run a legacy project called Paralympic Voices, to interview current and former Paralympic athletes.
And it is looking for confident, personable volunteers to help carry out the film interviews.
Volunteers will be fully trained, so this is an opportunity to acquire experience in basic film camera handling and interview techniques.
Most interviewees will be filmed in their own homes so volunteers will need to travel within the UK and will receive full travel costs. All equipment will be provided. Prospective volunteers must be able to attend the one day training in Aylesbury on Thursday, September 20 and must be at least 18 years old.
