STAFF at Bicester-based firm PaydayUK helped raise more than £1,500 for Dogs for the Disabled with a Big Dog Breakfast.

Hot dogs and bacon rolls were sold, and staff could also win prizes including an iPad and a widescreen TV in a grand raffle.

The amount raised was matched by PayDay UK, taking the total to more than £1,500.

Payday employee Stephanie Cook, who organised the event, said: “It was a great day and everyone had fun. We were stunned by the amount of raffle tickets sold and everyone was really keen to support such a fantastic charity.

“We are really proud to have raised so much money; it is a great cause because the dogs have a really positive impact on people’s lives. We are looking forward to continuing to support Dogs for the Disabled and I would like to thank everyone who helped on the day.”

Peter Gorbing, Dogs for the Disabled chief executive, expressed his gratitude to the PaydayUK staff, adding: “The funds raised will help us train more assistance dogs to help people that face challenges on a daily basis due to their disability, providing independence and companionship.”

Banbury-based charity Dogs for the Disabled supports more than 260 partnerships and teams across the UK; each one costing over £19,000 throughout its lifetime. The charity relies entirely on voluntary donations.
