Plan for police services link

THAMES VALLEY POLICE: Oxfordshire could share traffic police, dog handlers and firearms officers with Hampshire and the Isle of Wight after a legal agreement was announced this week.

Hampshire Constabulary and Thames Valley Police hope to boost efficiency by working together in a Joint Operations Unit (JOU).

Further integration will follow later this year. The final part will be the joint firearms unit, to be created after the 2012 Olympics.
