The cast of Winslow Players pantomime, Ali Baba. 130120M-B580

Rehearsals are going well for this year’s Winslow Players panto, which opens next Thursday in the public hall.

Ali Baba was originally written by Chris Chapman in 1972, when a young Derry French made her first appearance in the chorus.

Now Mrs Chapman is directing the production again, after rewriting the script for today’s audience.

The show promises to be a traditional family panto, with colourful costumes, music, dancing and plenty of audience participation.

Will Ali Baba manage to capture the robber chief and win the hand of the beautiful Princess Amina in marriage?

Performances are on Thursday and Friday, January 31 and February 1, at 7.30pm and on Saturday, February 2, at 1pm and 8pm.

Tickets are on sale from Jennie Wren’s Tearooms.

> The Claydon Panto Group’s Aladdin starts tomorrow, Saturday, at Steeple Claydon Village Hall.
