Primary gives its children at taste of London 2012

Croughton Olympic Sports Day

Croughton Olympic Sports Day

CHILDREN in Croughton performed the official Olympic mascot dance which will be performed during the London 2012 opening ceremony.

At the end of last month children at Croughton All Saints CE Primary School enjoyed a taste of the Olympics starting with the obligatory national anthem played by the school orchestra.

Pupils went on to entertain parents, grandparents and visitors from both the parish council and the RAF base along with Ian Colling, the Headteacher of Magdalen College School, with a series of musical performances including Morris Dancing, country dancing, and the official mascot dance. After the whole school followed the Olympic torch to the village playing field they settled in for an afternoon of Olympic sports.

Winners took part in a podium presentation with medals designed by year four pupil Katie Durno.
