Raising awareness about dementia
A Dementia Awareness coffee morning at Winslow Library last Wednesday formed part of a whole week of free events designed to help people find out more about dementia.
Dementia Week was put together by Buckingham GP Dr Alison Banks, working together with the Alzheimer’s Society, to raise awareness and enable people to find out the local services available to dementia sufferers and talk to representatives of local groups including the Bucks Alzheimer’s Society and North Bucks Carers.
Dr Banks, who works at Verney Close Surgery is the clinical commissioning group’s lead for dementia.
Other events during the week included an information stall on Buckingham Market and coffee and croissants for carers at the Old Gaol.
