Rare Triumph bike found in desert is up for auction
A 36-YEAR-OLD classic British motorbike that was dumped in a desert is up for auction with only 175 miles on the clock.
The Triumph Trident T160 was one of 200 made in the 1970s for the Saudi Arabian police force.
But the force found the bikes too heavy to ride and dumped them in the desert after just a few days.
This fully-restored model, with 12 months MoT, was brought back to Britain and is expected to fetch between £5,000 and £6,000 at JP Humbert Auctioneers, in Towcester, on May 24.
Auctioneer Jonathon Humbert said it is a rare and classic English motorbike. Free valuations will held at the Shacks Barn auction house with donations to Helen and Douglas House Hospice.
