A Chetwode woman has just completed her eighth book of local history.

Pam Rayner’s Memories Of Chetwode And Barton Hartshorne is on sale at £20 by calling 01280 848319.

Mrs Rayner, who was born in Preston Bissett has also written books about several other local villages and the London Brick Company at Calvert. She has recorded the memories of 350 people in her books, including 24 people in this volume.

“I just compile people’s memories,” said Mrs Rayner.

“I do my best to record aws many as possible. They all loved talking about their lives.

“I think memories are very special.”
