Spitfires to fly at Stoke Bruerne re-enactment weekend

Three Spitfires from the Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight are set to give a flying display over Stoke Bruerne at about 1.30pm on Saturday, September 29*.
For the fifth year in a row, the canal village is preparing to step back in time to the days of the Second World War for its Village At War weekend.
On Saturday and Sunday, September 29 and 30, visitors can experience life 1940s style, including air raids and Home Guard detachments, take cover in a bomb shelter and learn the Lambeth Walk. Musical entertainment will be from singer Lola Lamour and George Formby lookalike Paul Casper,
Members of living history groups from all round the country will be there. And Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Field Marshal Montgomery will be inspecting the troops. See www.friendsofcanalmuseum.org.uk
