Support charity cyclists and research into disease

editorial image

Three local companies are lending their support to a charity event next week.

Great Horwood resident Stuart Birrell and Alan Webb from Maidford, near Towcester, are organising a 24-hour sponsored stationary cycle ride on Friday and Saturday, September 14 and 15 outside Waitrose, Buckingham.

With a team of six friends, the pair will be cycling in relays from 8am to 8pm on both days, to raise awareness of Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and funds for the MND Association.

The ride is inspired by a former work colleague and running partner, who has been diagnosed with the muscle wasting condition.

Mr Webb thanked Waitrose for allowing the cyclists to use an undercover space outside its shop, the Swan Pool and Leisure Centre for loaning a stationary bike and Syresham cycles for helping with monitoring and displays.
