Teenage girls flee men in black
POLICE are searching for men who chased two 12-year-old girls in Towcester last weekend.
Between 3pm and 3.10pm on Saturday, January 21 the girls were walking along the footpath linking Belle Baulk and Watling Street when they saw a large black estate stop on the verge opposite Old Tiffield Road.
Up to three men then got out of the vehicle and chased them. The girls fled along the footpath, crossing the river at Lucas Bridge, before losing sight of the men and raising the alarm with occupants of a house they considered safe.
The girls described the vehicle as possibly an Audi or Mercedes with roof bars. The occupant of the safe house ran back up the path but only saw a silver Transit van in place of the estate car.
The men are described as white, aged about 30, dressed all in black with black beanie hats.
The girls reported running past a woman walking her dog along what is a well-used local route.
Anyone with information should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
