Around 100 young people were given a day to remember when the became the first to test the new Mercedes-Benz driving experience centre at Silverstone Circuit.

All the young people were under 17 years old and for many its was their first time behind the wheel of a car. They were there to test driive the facilities of the new attraction which is open to the whole family. The Mercedes-Benz Driving Experience Centre at Silverstone uses a specially-designed road layout that includes Bridge Corner - part of the pre-2011 Grand Prix Circuit, and offers driving experiences tailored to each driver.

Dolly Butler from Buckingham (pictured front right) said: “It was excellent. I was changing gear, going round roundabouts, it was like driving on the roads. I’ve never driven before and the first car I drove was a Mercedes”.

The driving experiences are designed for beginners to learn at their own pace, with professional and friendly driving instructors from the Mercedes-Benz Driving Academy. Drivers had the chance to learn important car control skills, such as pulling away at junctions, steering through corners and roundabouts, braking, reversing, using mirrors and other driving skills in a safe and friendly environment.
