Thousands turn out to watch the Olympic torch relay in Buckingham and Winslow

The streets were lined with people this morning when the Olympic torch relay made its way to Buckingham and Winslow.

Thousands turned up to watch the relay which this morning had begun its journey in Luton.

Carrying the torch through Buckingham were Jemma Moore, 26, from Banbury, Paul Barter, 45, from Aylesbury, and Sarah Williams, 19, from Pleasanton, in the United States.

In Winslow, the torch was carried by Salvadore Cortes, 54, Cleverdon Peerless, 25, from Buckingham, Connie Coneron, 54, from Aylesbury and Gloria Chaplin, 69, from Milton Keynes.

The torch made its way to Aylesbury and through Stoke Mandeville where it was carried by mouth and foot painting artist Keith Jansz, from Finmere.

The torch arrived in Bicester this afternoon and was carried through the town by William Zoghbi, 56, from Houston, Amie Ing, 15, from Aylesbury, Carly Castle, 32, from Banbury, Simon Cruden, 31, Kindlington, and Tom Rollaston, 18, from Deddington.

Also carrying the torch today was Annie Jankowiak, 13, from Buckingham, who completed her stint as torchbearer in Bletchley.

The torch is making its way through Kirtlington, carried by Debra Toney, of Las Vegas, and Gerry Darley, of High Wycombe.
