Three car smash on A43 causing congestion in Towcester

Motorists have been warned of long delays on a stretch of the A43 near Towcester today following a crash.

The northbound carriageway of the road was temporarily closed near Tiffield following the three vehicle collision earlier today, resulting in heavy congestion on the southbound carriageway. Some motorists reported delays of up to an hour.

Fire crews were called to help cut victims from their cars. A number of people were injured but police said the injuries were ‘not life-threatening’.

Towcester resident Martin Blake said it took him an hour to travel up Northampton Road to Hulcote and back again.
