Time to take advantage of energy firms’ pay back

PRIVATE residents in south Northants have a chance to help save the environment by having their homes insulated for free.

It would cost up to £700 to carry out the work available on an average sized home.

But South Northants Council has teamed with the Snug Network and Absolute Insulations who can help householders access money made available by energy firms for cavity wall and loft insulation which could slash £300 from annual fuel bills.

Dermot Bambridge, SNC’s portfolio holder for waste and environmental management, said: “We are delighted to have been successful in obtaining funding from the energy companies.

“This means grants are now available to help offset the steep rise in energy bills, to help improve energy efficiency in the home and to help the environment. I would urge everyone who hasn’t already insulated their homes, or thinks that their insulation can be improved, to arrange for a free survey and get the benefit of this excellent offer.”

All district residents with an average-sized home will be eligible, and those with larger properties will still be able to get a substantial discount. Those with more than 60mm of loft insulation will have to pay £129 towards further work.

To arrange a free, no obligation survey call 0845 872 7417.
