Mulled wine, mince pies and music from the Sponne School Band will get visitors to the monthly Towcester Farmers’ Market in festive spirit on Friday, December 14, from 9am.

This month Towcester Lions, which raises funds from the market highlights James Evans of Pastures Farm Poultry. He has been supporting Towcester Farmers Market for eight years. He sells free-range chicken, duck, guinea fowl and free-range eggs.

For Christmas he has extra supplies of free-range Norfolk Bronze turkeys, cockerels, ducks and geese, plus pies and smoked duck and chicken.

Trevor Watts from the Lions said Mr Evans’ regular customers describe his stock as ‘delicious produce.’

Apart from providing a valuable service, profits from the market go to causes in the area supported by the Lions. Plans for an extra Towcester Farmer’s Market before Christmas are set to be annouced.
